21st MASE Symposium

Overview

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the 21st International Symposium of the Macedonian Association of Structural Engineers (MASE). The Symposium will be held on September 24-27, 2025, at Inex Olgica Hotel & Spa in Ohrid, North Macedonia.

Join us at Structural Engineering-Limitless, the 21st MASE Symposium that will embody the boundless potential of our industry as we step into an era marked by transformative advancements. Today, we are standing on the threshold of a new age, where cutting-edge technologies are reshaping the way we design, construct and maintain structures.

At the heart of these changes are key advances in Data-driven concepts, Sensor technology and Internet of Things in the AEC sector and Sustainability in construction materials – each of which is pushing the frontiers of structural engineering beyond previously imagined limits. How to enable smarter, more efficient design processes? Do we revolutionize the way we monitor and maintain structures in real-time, unlocking new possibilities for predictive modeling and optimization? Can we create intricate, highly customized building components with unprecedented precision, meanwhile, bringing structures to life in virtual spaces, providing powerful insights and fostering proactive decision-making? The possibilities are truly limitless.

This Symposium will explore how these technologies are converging to redefine the boundaries of what’s possible in our field by technical presentations made by distinguished invited speakers. We will discuss how these groundbreaking developments are opening new avenues for collaboration, problem-solving, and growth within the field of structural engineering. The symposium will enable a specifically dedicated exhibition area for product and technology demonstrations of companies relevant to the field. Paper submissions covering the main theme will be highly appreciated; however, in addition, the symposium will cover a broader range of topics:

  • Theoretical and experimental analysis of structures
  • Contemporary methods for structural design and construction
  • Structural health monitoring, performance and damage assessment
  • Maintenance, repair and strengthening of structures
  • Reliability and durability of structures
  • Information and BIM technologies in structural engineering
  • Modern materials and technologies for sustainable development
  • Smart buildings and infrastructure
  • Digital twins and Digital building permits
  • AI and Machine learning in the AEC sector
